Persian pottery or Iranian pottery is the pottery made by the artists of Persia (Iran) and its history goes back to early Neolithic Age (7th millennium BCE). Agriculture gave rise to the baking of clay, and the making of utensils by the people of Iran.

Gold over-painting set against a deep royal blue glaze makes Lajvardina ware one of the most spectacular ever produced in Persia. Vessels with "lajvardina" decoration present all the characteristics of prestige ceramics. Luxury ware set off with gold, they owe their name to their characteristic deep blue "sang-i-lajvard", the Persian name for lapis lazuli, which indicates the colour of the cobalt oxide used in the glaze.
